SCRIPT: It's an annual event -- the migration of Olive Ridley Marine turtles along the Pacific coastline of Oaxaca in Mexico. Every year from the start of August to the end of September, these sea turtles, whose ancestors go back to the dinosaurs, come ashore to lay eggs. Members of the "Olive Ridley turtle sanctuary" saw encouraging signs this year. SOUNDBITE: Members of the "Olive Ridley turtle sanctuary saying (Spanish): "Based on the number of turtles which have arrived, you can say the turtle population has increased. So far some 400,000 turtles have arrived." The turtles are expected to lay between 80 and 150 eggs per nest of which only 60 to 70 percent survive. According to the World Wildlife Fund, marine turtles have been around for over 100 million years.
