Hard Landings and Close Calls

From my perspective most of the landings were still within the limits, however every aircraft has different cross wind limits. All pilots are aware that every landing is a potential go-around if not clearly stabilized on the center line before reaching minimum decision height and with correct pitch angle. As everyone can see, that decision is always subject to the pilot in command, who's judgement can be rather flexible, depending on the carrier company. I am pilot myself on charter and cargo and know too well about the cost factor for additional fuel consumption in case of a go-around. You really don't want to have to many of those these times..... :-)

as in the landing at 1:38,,,, those pilots did a outstanding job in landing. Being from Alaska I know all to well about cross winds. A few of the landings were way to hot.. and the airline should give everybody a free something.... the music was perfect for this segment.. Pls if you have more send them this way..

Poorly titled. There were a couple hard landings, yet most appeared well done under some tough cross-wind situations. I'd be happy to know my pilot could deal with such situations. Please keep up the work, but take time to learn more about these landings & title them better. There are many people like myself who fly many thousands of miles each year & enjoy aviation & these sorts of videos!

whomever made that video of "bad landings" has no idea of how to fly, other than the obvious few in that vid the rest had nothing wrong

the last AA landing was perfect cross wind landing i don,t see it dangerous.

I think I was on some of those birds.

Suggest somebody shows SPANAIR's last month in Madrid, due to lousy Spanish safety regulations, SAS (mother company) lax safety controls, and worst of all: McDONNEL-DOUGLAS obsolete aircraft.

THIS IS NOT HARD LANDING THESE PILOTS ARE BRILIANT.... THEY GO WITH THE WIND FLOW AND THEN LAND ON THE RUN WAY... U SHOULD LERN AVIATION BEFOR SAYING HARD LANDING... IM A PILOT

The only perfect landing was the last, strangely also the only US carrier.

these look like typical ( for the most part) cross wind landings which require off center nose into the wind approaches nothing unordinary here

The last landing is in Toncontin Int airport in Tegucigalpa, Honduras Central America, and the plane is a 757 from American airlanes the biggest plane allow to land in this field.

All landings were good but the best should be the landing done by a plane with front tyre not straight,it was missing here.

Theast one was brilliant!

This video also shows good landings in difficult conditions highlighting pilot skill and training but there were also a few poor landings too.

I just realized that it wasn't accepted into producer rewards. I could have earned a lot of money with this one

2nd one in was a bit bouncy

2nd one from the end must have taken some considerate skill in crosswinds if he really was at that angle.

These pilots sure are impressive in the most extreme wind conditions, even if they are simple mis-guidaance ond over reactioness.
