If you are on a laptop or simply just don't like to move your hand from the keyboard while you browse the internet use this Firefox addon. Just press " . " that is on the numpad or configure your own hot key to activate the addon. "All" the links in the page will be numbered. The biggest trouble i had with this addon was with GMail, but fortunately GMail has it's own keyboard shortcuts.
