  • Pet stores are lying to you.

    If you ask your local pet store where their puppies come they will answer you that they get their puppies from local respectable breeders but that are all lies. Respectable breeders care deeply about their dogs and would never sell them to pet stores. Reputable breeders want to personally meet the family who wants to buy their dogs to make sure the puppies and the persons are a good match. Furthermore reputable breeders breed only 1 or 2 breeds of dogs (puppy mills have dozen of breeds and often even more). Reputable breeders breed their dogs once every few years and not twice a year. Pet stores won’t tell you the name of the breeders of the dogs they sell because if you have the name of the breeder you can look it up (www.ne4animals have a form you can fill and will tell you if the breeder is a puppy miller). Pet stores will also tell you that their puppies come from breeders who have their dogs inside their house as pets but this is not true either! How could someone have a hundreds (sometime a thousands) of dogs and puppies inside their house as pets? The true is that most of those dogs are kept outside in small filthy cages all their life. Also puppies sold by reputable breeders are cheaper and in way better health then puppies sold in pet stores. Finally please remember that between 6 and 8 millions dogs and cats are killed in shelters in the US every year because there aren’t enough available homes for them and so buying a dog/cat instead of adopting one means that a pet that could have saved will die because you preferred to buy rather than to adopt.           Dont be nerds, there are shops that do this and shops where the animals are treated gentle and with lots of love because the shoptenders LOVE the animals they sell. **** it! you are so blind you cant think on your own!
          And also, PETA are just a bunch of people that love so much the animals that have sex with them. Stupid eco-terrorists, you should be doing something usefull, not publishing fake propaganda and throwing blood buckets at people.

            no reputable breeder would sell their puppies to pet stores ever? Why? Because they want to screen the buyers. Also remember that between 5 and 8 millions pets are killed in shelters every year because there isn't enough homes for them. 25% of the dogs in shelters are pure breed! You can also find breed specific rescues anywhere in the US.

            the issue was with unscrupulous breeders and not with the shops? Also, maybe PETA goes overboard at times but it doesn't mean that everything they present is untrue. What is it in the video that you actually dispute as being skewed? Since you are such a big fan of independent and critical thinking, at least show us your objective reasoning instead of launching a blanket attack on PETA.

              About 25% of the animals available for adoption are pure breed. You can find pure breed dogs at your local shelter or local specific breed rescue group. To find your next pet you can use petfinder.com or type the breed you looking for and your town on google.
