Its nothing special man i when i was young i would find tons of these in my swing set, and around the house foundation, so i researched them and used them for my science fair project they are walaby walkers and are not rare, there pretty common around here actaully, they r not a worm or catipillar either, they are actually closer related to lizards, for real. there is an indian legend around here that says every wooly mamouth that was killed by our people would turn into these and when u died they would eat your soul if u had killed it, well yeh i hope i was some help bro, ttyl peace

My people (Native Americans) also have many different names for these little guys. The best one is "Fur Worm". Many of these furry guys "are" poisonous. Mostly if eaten i.e. animals

Looks like some kind of slug moth, we call them spitfires in Aus, the huddle on tree branches as a big kind of hairy group. When you knock the tree thay all hang out going "waheeyy!!"...really creepy mother nature, good work...

Don't know what species it is but what your seeing are modified satae that we see in caterpillars. It's a kinda defense mechanism.
