I believe that Comedy Central in general "pretends" to be liberal when in fact it pushes hateful stereotypes. I think they can still be witty, clever, and "good" without resorting to such extremes and solidifying peoples hate of blacks, gays, women, minorities, not to mention religious preferences. Also I couldn't disagree more with your double standard when you said "the public's conservative and rational views on gay people, and not gay people." People can't see how right wing it really is.

I cannot agree with you more. The 10 annoying minutes I gave to watching Fringe was totally worth it since I know exactly how this show's future is going to be: plummetting to oblivion. The background music is too corny and cliche. I am changing the channel to South Park of TV News at 9 any Tuesday. It is also such a shame that this show had to air after House. Now the whole world will find out that there is an impending loss for a "best new show of the fall"...in less than 15 minutes.

Ugh! Just when I thought JJ Abrams couldn't milk the corpse of X-Files anymore with his God-awful LOST, he manages to go all the way with ripping off Chris Carter's classic show by creating this drek. I managed to get 20 minutes into it with it's Scully-style flashlight scenes and piano themes playing in the background before I decided to do turn it off. I'm sure I'll hear all of the drooling LOST fans tomorrow talk about how Abrams painted another stroke of "genius".

keep in mind that anything extremely homophobic which is also very funny is more a parody of the public's conservative and rational views on gay people, and not gay people. i know for a fact that south park is a very liberal show, and they tend to make fun of absolutely everything, without holding back on the good stuff (which i love and respect so much). and with the recent liberation of gay people, i can see how gayness is a hot topic in comedy. many gay people seem to be a parody even :P

Well, FOX already has some pretty good shows and there is no need for this one. 9 million watched the opener and there will probably be another decently high rating next week because the show goes on after House. After about 5 episodes, the ratings will plummet and the show will inevitably be cancelled. This is how it goes for almost every show, you go on TV and you either last until the actors decide to stop (Seinfeld) or you get cancelled relatively quickly.
