Backside
It's better to write on the backside of the paper, then you can drink some of it to reveal the text and read it. When you put the bottle down the liquid will cover the text again.

unfortunately you HAVE to make sure that the soda is NOT cold but @ room temp...otherwise condensation will obviously get the paper wet and the ink will run...

Good universities do not allow drinks in exams. During the exam you have to suck it up and stay dry for the 1-3 hours.
