a simple hho generator. 5 stainless steel plates, some PVC pipe, nylon bolts, copper wire, a 12V battery and water. i have about $25 in parts to make this little setup. My back flash suppressor did not work to well. i will have to watch the videos again and rethink that. (unknown amps)

That is a really good start.
For a more efficient cell study the research of Bob Boyce or Smacks Boosters. The BBSmack is probably the best easy cell to build.
