Microsoft has been investing in many forms of natural input to enable users to interact with the PC and their devices using touch. Last year at the All Things Digital conference Bill Gates introduced Microsoft's surface computer. This year Julie Larson-Green (VP, Windows Experience Program Management), who was responsible for the innovative Office 2007 design, demonstrated the multi-touch innovations first previewed in Surface that will ultimately play a part of the next version of Windows.

  • ah. but you ...

ah. but you compared it to USB, and I will point out that on consumer computers - the entire UNIX group (all the Linux versions and Mac OS) make up only 4%. then you go on to compare it to Microsoft Office, it's more like OpenOffice(or less)
want a cite - here you go:
it's an average of both IDC and Gartner numbers.
hold on, i never said servers, nor did you. don't go putting words in my comment.
you + reading = epic fail

  • once again, could ...

once again, could you please attempt some research. cite me a link on a reputable site (rather than a pro mac one), and it still can't be right - if they did license GUI to Microsoft, then Apple could not sue them for copyright infringement, it wouldn't even get to the courts, Apple's lawyers would read critical contracts, I'm sure.
as for my self confidence, I have enough to shoot down your baseless claims. i don't see where thought of that remark from.

Maybe you can put a gel pad over the screen and then play a boxing game.I seems that a lot people posting comments here would LOVE to throw punches at a windows box. ;-)

worms:You may be misreading my reply. There's more than just USA and Germany, but YouTube's char limit prevents listing 192 countries. Most of Japan's stuff is refined US & German (& a few others) technology. The CD (SONY afaik), which is an enhancement of previous optical storage technology, is the only Japanese item that come's to mind at this moment.

  • widerangledotcom:" ...

widerangledotcom:"Unix is not the standard... windows = 96% of worldwide market share..."
I said "an", not "the", indstrl std.Theres more than one std for serial ports, video, etc, and some are used remarkably more than others.Unix may not be an IEEE std,but Unix is accepted as a standard by practice.MSOffice is example of practice standard.

(sincere request) Please cite the source quoting "96%" marketshare for windows servers.

"you + unix comment=fail" Once again, please grow up.

Mac "visual displays" (ie, GUI) were licensed to MS in '85 for Windows 1. Sculley's team (was dumb enough to) believe it was specific to win1 but not later versions. When l8r Windows implementations were released,Apple sued and lost. That's legal industry, not theft.

  • Microsoft is so ...

Microsoft is so stupid, can't they understand people want better performance and less of that useless stuff that just makes their OS looks 'cool'? I mean seriously, who would want to waste their energy reaching their hand forward to tap the screen? A mouse is 10x easier and faster.
