In my opinion, you can't be possessed by a devil if you don't believe in God or satan. The explanations which all the religions give us seem to me like they indoctrinate people. Religion was used to control people for a very long time and it's still doing the same thing today. I am not saying you shouldn't believe in a god but don't believe everything you see. To sum up, religions reflect perfectly in the myth of the cave and it is to my belief that if there is a being that created us, he intended us to be free and to have the right to chose. alrite let em clear up a few things here for u ppl. first of all think about way back when teh quran was written. it was the time of the beduins...nomads who believed in polyhteism. the quran unlike some other religions, reamins unchanged and unaltered to this day. back when it was written. these things were everyday occurrances. the people were nomads who barely had a sense of law. these rules were written for them. it is jsut teh fact that it has remained unchaged for so long that it is being criticized as brutal today. there is no religous authority like a pope or w.e. whatever was written way back then is what your seeing now and this was when wars were still faught with swords and beheadeing was done by everybody. just keep that in mind before you make any decisions or generalizations
