On a more serous note, it appears that we have finally seen the end of cheap oil. All the current information that I have seen support the belief that global oil consummation is out-pacing oil production. If this is true, then we will see gasoline, plastics, rubber, mass transportation, and food prices rapidly increase. Actually, oil prices will probably affect the price of everything. For example, a dentist will have to increase his prices to patients because his commuting costs have increased, not to mention that the cost of his medical supplies has increased. A very bleak picture, but helps one realize the importance of, the dependence on, and the effect oil has on every single human being in the entire world. Even the terrorists need oil!

Today, the spot market oil price is just over $73. Some experts are claiming that the imbalance between supply and demand requires that oil be $182 per barrel. The ratio between these two numbers is 1 to 2.5. Apply that to the average cost of gas at $3 means that gas can go to $7.50 a gallon. Not many people can afford that kind of gasoline price (a 20 gallon tank would cost $150 to fill up).

So, I believe we will see very high oil prices. We may even see world-wide oil rationing. I believe this would not only cripple the USA’s economy but the entire world’s economy. Such a monumental event could eventually be the catalyst to WW3 (my opinion). Have you ever studied the events before, during, and after the world’s “Great Depression” (1929 through the 1930s)? It looks to me that current events are unfolding and will mirror the events of this period (1918 – 1939).

These jobs can still be under construction even in a bad economy just because the contracts and financing are in place and funded. I usually look at building permits and housing developements in planning. Small to medium home construction is easy to stop if the climate is not good. By the way, thanks for the debt info. I have been looking everywhere to get a sense of the total asset value of the USA. Real Estate both private and governmental, liquid assets, and chattel. I am curious what the total gross value is vs the 35 trillion.

I just read that over 800 people have been killed on both sides. Add to that the cost to rebuild, the cost of this war, the loss to economies, the loss and destruction of personal property, and the emotional trauma to men, women, children, and babies. And, the worst thing is that this could all have been avoided so easily by having had enforced UN Resolution 1559 (September 2004 – on Bush’s watch). I blame the UN more than anyone else for this man-made disaster because the UN was a political chicken-s.h.i.t and did not enforce their resolution. Had they, all of this would not have occurred.

I think Atlanta was one of the hottest in recent years. You know what they say... the bigger they are the harder they fall. Check with architects, Atlanta building permits, concrete companies. They are the first to experience slowdown. You also might check the new housing developements and see who is financing the small/medium size builders. They will know who is financially tenuous. They will be especially forthcoming if you dangle a couple hundred k deposit and a new business coming to town.

On the other hand , syria si detaining 640 lebanese detainees without any sentencing or court hearings , the number was fitered down to 280 between missing and killed during detention , that means when the civil war ended in lebanon in 1990 syria only released few dozens detainees keeping hundreds of them in their prisons , so since hezbollah is so anxious about releasing detainees , why they never asked about the lebanese detainees in the syrian jails ? why is it that 2 detainees in israel are more important than 280 detainees in syria ? and the big part of the 280 lebanese detainees in syria belongs to the muslim chiites same religion that hezbollah belongs to . if 2 detainees in israel are worth 400 dead and 2000 wounded and 1/2 million refugee and $10 billion in infrastructural damage to lebanon ( thats 'till this day, the war is not over yet ) how much you think is 280 detainees in the syrian prisons worth ? and one more thing , dont even consider thinking , that all the lebanese people and lebanese government are in favor of hezbollah , no one wants to see a private armed militia group making decisions upon the syrian and iranian interests in the mid-east . Lebanon suffered alot from other's countries war on it's soil , it's time for lebanon to have a democratic state and government again , and it only can be achieved by implementing of the UN resolution 1559 .
