  Yes it is safe to do provided you are careful.
  
  Binding your feet to the swing seat is a good start and a good grip comes second best. It is also clear that the ropes of the swing were actually poles which prevented collapse when at the top of the arc.
  
  So this swing was carefully designed for what you just saw where nearly anyone with enough nerve can do it.

that cant be rope
it has to be some type of bars or something solid and light becouse when he went to the top and over he would have started to fall head first if that were rope becouse he didnt go over that fast but didnt drop !!!!!
