You can bet the sound you hear is dubbed in! Radio controlled planes are silent! Plus, you are looking at thousands of dollors invested on each aircraft! And they are easy to fly, but very difficult to control and do it right. You want no crashes on your investment!

  r/c GLIDERS might not emit any noise other than that when the servos are used to move the flaps or tailfin, but any self-propelling aircraft (except rubber-band ones) will make a noise; electric motor, glow-fuel or jet. and there are r/c planes with real jet engines.

  i did and found a manufacturer of micro-turbine engines for r/c planes. their prices are about Ã‚Â£1600 (around us$3000) PER engine. multiply this by the number of engines. add cost of the toy aeroplane itself, plus radio gear etc etc.
  is it worth it? for some people, evidently it is, although i can't see the point at that price.
