    the trick works because the image looks 3d, and if that were that wall was in an actual 3d world the line on the left would be shorter. the success of illusions like these rely on properly rendering 3d objects onto a 2d surface

    no matter what angle, which eye, how far i see it from, the middle line is still longer. I'm so disbelieve that I even use a ruler to measure it from my monitor, its same length....

      Cool! I was hoping that would happen.. :) Objects are usually not to scale on the computer screen because of shooting at different camera angles, but it must have been at the proper angle when you measured.. lol.

      picture is scan by scanner, I think its in correct scale. It doesnt matter its on scale or not, the middle line is still longer when you see it. If only we try to ignore the other line except the 2 line

Squint your eyes and focus them in the middle...you see both of them are the same when you eyes aren't seeing the outer walls...this is on the back of an apple jacks box for 4 year olds to see..
