  • The speedo is out of whack.

    There's a simple way to check their claims and that is to count how many streetlamps they pass in a certain time. I looked at the video at 2:00 and counted 15 light pulses on the dashboard.

    If the lamps are 50 meters apart like they usually are, it figures to 270 kmph. The meter was showing well over 300 at that point.

    If somebody really wants to, use some video editing program to slow it down and count it properly.

    I'm a proud Greek, and this is straight up stupid. There's a reason Greece has the highest rate of motor fatalities per capita in the whole EU. Because it's still "cool" to do stuff like this, to not wear your seatbelt, to drive drunk, etc. That makes you a real "manga"... To kill yourself or someone else and leave your family mourning for the rest of their lives.
    Two days before I left Greece last time to come back to the states there was a man in the middle of this very same stretch of highway laying face down dead and his motorcycle a few hundred meters further down the road. It is a needless waste.

    I know the video is real, i know the guys who did it, the thing is that however interesting it is, (you don't see a car doing 340 everyday) it is also very annoying to discover that people have such psychological problems to do it on a public road. What the driver did is no heroism, it's total lack of responsibility. It is only a week past today a 13year old boy was killed in front of the place i work by a driver doing 70km/h (legal motorway speed). Just imagine 340km/h.
