    The Van Driver was wrong and the motorcyclist was speeding. blame goes to both

      The video itself is not sufficient enough to conclude whether the motorcyclist was to blame or not because we do not know if the speed that he was going at in the video was due to either:
      1. He was already at that speed (i.e. speeding) prior to being captured in the video (in the frame).

      Or

      2. He was NOT speeding prior to the van started to make the turn, but a split second decision came and he decided to speed up to go through the gap (otherwise, if he had decided to brake , and had the van continued to make the turn, he may would have slammed onto the side of the van).

      Therefore, from the video alone, it's inconclusive as to if the motorcyclist was at fault as well.

      if you are making a turn and passing through an oncoming lane of traffic... you may only do so when it is SAFE so if their is any contact what so ever that means it wasn't safe... even if the guy was speeding,which i dont think he was... (it looked like a country road so i would guess the speed limit is higher then in the city)..... he seemed to be going fast... only because he passed the cameraman within 6-8 feet.... and by the sound of the bike it didnt sound like he geared down and try to speed through.... if he passed the camera doing 160k... it would look alot different he would of been launched up the moutain...plus I dont even think he would be able to steer if he was at a really high rate of speed....

      what I think happened....

      first of all I think the driver was distracted by all the people standing on the street...... the driver did a quick glance and didnt see a car and started to turn... then all of a sudden saw the bike and stopped.... if you watch the clip it seems like the only chance for the bike to aviod an accident was for him to shoot the gap... if he tried to stop it looks like he would of slid into the front of the van....

      Im a city bus driver I see bone head driving like this all day....

    its the van driver's fault because u can clearly see that it had little to no traffic. the van driver just turns no lookin for oncomein traffic and decides to lk when he is all upin the road and stops leavein no space for the biker. and those bikers went to that spot to speed its not like they speed 24/7 so ppl relax and for u car drivers out there lk for bikers too not jus other cars

    from what I can see the biker was going way too fast for a curvy single-lane country road with limited visibility. Rule #1 is to not exceed a speed in which you are able to stop without hitting an obsticle. Not only couldn't he stop before reaching the van, he couldn't stop before hitting the hillside.

    And, yes, I ride a crotchrocket too.

    I beat the van driver, even if he saw the motorcycle, couldn’t estimate that it’s coming with this kind of speed. I am sure it was way over the limit. The motorcycle driver just panicked and missed the turn. Both are wrong, but first is the motorcycle driver! Unfortunately there are a lot of “cool” guys on the roads that get eventually killed or kill the others… Sorry for him, but it’s not fair to blame only the other one. Look at the speed of the other drivers on the road… they are not so cool, but alive…
