Disapearing Car & Door

What happens in an accident ? Is the door still accessable, can rescue crews get to occupants inside the car easly. If the car rolls how stable are the doors? I think the video should be accompanied
by these statistics and not just a video on luxury living and parking ease.

is to let a peson in, not entertainment. it is very lacking structual integrity, i cant see it passing any safety requirments

imagine that thing getting t-boned.... a normal car might protect the passenger side from direct impact, but this car will have the t-boner fly right through the car.... progress!

But is it for real? If the door stopped working, how would you get in/out?

where's the safety feature?? what if the car had an accident and landed on curb??

The things they come up with now days.....Now if they could just learn how to properly install a childs safety seat........

thats coll,but how it have criminal?...when some one show his gun its to late for closing the door again....

But does it keep up the structural integrity of the care for maximum safety???

i think what their saying is it is safer and structualy stronger than current designs as well as lighter(more fuel efficient). as far as rain or mud i think they were trying to show that the final design would have a double floor or pocket. as long as you dont get hit on both sides at once at least one door should open though a hard hit front or rear may jam both doors which would leave only the windows as an emergency exit. that would be a huge problem for some people or situations. still a very cool idea. lets hope they solve all the problems and we have them available.

Also some cars made in the 1950s had swivel seats. My Dad said that was one of the best inventions ever.

S**ks during rain storms
battery dieing can't get in or out which meaning if your on the outside you can't open the hood to change the battery or charge it.. if your inside the car no way for you to get out and change the battery or charge it..
and many more here as well..

Surgestions on making it better...
have a second battery that will only run the doors and be charged same way as the other battery by the altanator..
have a key made so you can open the hood up to charge the battery (if needed) or have a special plug outlet put in so you can hook it up so you can charge it like electric cars or golfcarts..

How do you get in or out if the battery dies?

1. put legs on the different sides of that door
2. make it go up
3. OUCH!
