  • HDD (Primary and slave).

Adding a slave hard drive to your computer to expand space, means that your original old hard drive is going to continue in your computer. With the date already in, the same operating system, and the same setting. Because a second hard drive will be added, and formatted just so you have more space to store data. You have access to your data, but that data is separated from your operating system, making it therein a more sophisticated computer, like a unique server.

Another thing, a howto is not necessarily a guide, nor a tutorial. There is a difference between a howto, a tutorial, and a guide. Most people still confuse these things a lot, and this howto is just the basics you need to give you an idea of where to start. So, if you are interested on doing something like that, it's best to read a book, or so first. Every hardware changes, and SATA is not very common still, it's a very expensive type of hardware.

  • Just plug into ANY SATA on Mainboard !

He said just plug into ANY SATA port on the mainboard. NO you can plug into any one OVER number 1 as the boot disk has to be on number 1 unless you are going to go into the BIOS and reconfigure.

  • To Vague

First, there are no jumpers in an SATA (only ATA) IDE.....There are also a number of importat points you missed. If you are making the new drive the Master there is much yet to do.(Such as installing an O/S (while the other drive is unplugged). This vid simply shows the basic mechanices of HOOKING up a HDD....nothing more.

  • ok, sooooooo

    • well you don't need it

you don't need to re-install the windows cuz you are just making the hard drive as a second HD or as some people call it slave drive. but just remember to go to bios to format the new drive that you install then normally windows will automatic detect the new HD.
