I believe that this was filmed down in the Florida Keys. I have fished down there many, many times and i hear of this sort of thing happening all the time with tarpon. If your a big fisherman i suggest that you take a trip to the Florida Keys during the summer months. The fishing downt there is spectacular!

Something like that happened some years ago on the Delaware Bay when fishing for 'blues'. Freaken shark appeared while my friend's wife was reeling in a hit----clipped the bluefish right off. All she brought up was the head of the bluefish. Man, was she pissed off. Of course, the shark got away.

The tarpon wold have had a better chance to get away!
Anyways you can not eat tarpon! So many bones and huge scales and red meat! Good only for soup, but what isn't!
Pound per pound tarpon is the strongest sport fish out there ! along with Mako shark and Yellow fin tuna!
