Kung fu strictly speaking isnt a single style, but rather is a term encompassing most forms of Chinese martial arts. As I'm sure you can imagine, that includes a heck of a lot of styles, from the 5 animal fists made legendary by movies about the Shaolin monks, to other styles such as Qi Gong, appearing in the movies as Iron Vest technique, for example. (I use movies as examples since I expect that to appeal to the broadest number of people). In this film clip, they are using a bunch of grappling techniques that are quite common in many Kung Fu styles, and many of the same throws that Bruce Lee uses, for example, in Enter the Dragon. That being said, Tae Kwon Do and Kung Fu do share many similar principles, but bear in mind, these are Chinese cops, so why would they use Korean martial arts? As for the US/Taiwan debate, I wasn't impressed by the grouping they showed, but formal kung fu training is a lot more comprehensive than the hand-to-hand combat taught in American police and SWAT training. While I'd be curious to see the results of a match between the combat champions of each SWAT team (LAPD and Taiwan), I'd put my money on the Taiwanese.

And thinking about a contest between swat squats, well I think taiwanese are great, but in the world there is a lot of excellents speciual forces, for example, Brazil. They have to fight everyday against dealers. It´s just like a war but the difference is that they go back home when the day is over. They are trained in urban combat, Jiu Jitsu and others disciplines.
