and watch the scene again and watch the kids fingers close he is really playing the song and the original song was not called Fueling banjos it was called Fueding Banjos they got permission to use the song only after they changed it.

the kid in the film
isn't actually playing the banjo, it's another kid sat behind him.......the guy who actually did the banjo playing has a channel on youtube...look it up :)

  Look for Authur Smith and Dan Reno. The original name to this song, which was used without permission, is Fueling Banjos. Notice that it is a banjo and guitar, not 2 banjos against each other.

I drove near there
I drove near this place in Kentucky this summer and was told that in the wooded areas where this was shot, this sort of isolation in small towns is not uncommon.
