  • Get your information correct...

I love people who think they know about boxing just cause they follow one or two of the popular figthers. Tszyu was a great fighter but he was not the first to drop Chavez. Frakie Randall dropped Chavez before him.

To reply to some of the comments here, Hatton beat Tszyu no doubt anout it but Tszyu is in the tail end of his career, Hatton was exposed in his last fight by a little know champion who really won the fight but was robbed because Hatton is the more marketable boxer. Hatton is exciting but not a great fighter both Chavez and Tszyu would have beaten Hatton in the primes of their careers.

    • Frankie Randell

may have put Chavez down, though he only won this fight on split decision, in fact the first boxer to beat Chavez was Oscar De La Hoya in round 4 of their fight in june 1996. I wasnt stating that Tszyu was the first to drop chavez I was just stating that he was one of only a few to do so. It took 92 pro fights for Chavez to hit the canvas, pretty impressive. Also who ever comes on here and throws sh*t on Tszyu does not know boxing what so ever, judging a man on the tail end of neally 15 years in the pro ring is like saying Roy Jones Jnr couldnt fight.

    • SOME OF IT IS TRUE

you have to remember Randall beat the crap outta Chavez but Chavez ended the fight with a thunderous straight that took Randall out in the last 10 or so secs. of the fight, i mean Randall may have gotten up but he was out, which is why the ref awarded Chavez the ko victory.

  • Tszyu

He's good, but Ricky Hatton battered him senseless. He couldn't even get off his stool for the last round.

  • Not the first....

Frankie 'The Surgeon' Randall dropped Chavez for the first time, several years ago. Chavez has been a shell of his former self ever since he got his ass beat by Taylor.

    • YOUR SO WRONG

De la Hoya beat Chavez first and before anyone else, after that he wasn't the same. whats so ever anyone did to Chavez after is just subsequent to Oscar's ass whooping of Chavez, however none of the guys that took Chavez out will ever be of equal greatness in the ring including oscar. Chavez's 1st loss came when the man was well past his prime and after many wars, deep into 90 plus fights, many of which were absolute wars, Chavez pound for pound has to be in any true boxing fan's top ten fighters of all time.

    • I'm so right

Taylor laid a world-class ass-beating on chavez, but the ref (Richard Steele) handed the fight to chavez on a TKO with 2 seconds left in the fight. And Frankie Randall was the first to put Chavez down. Chavez was a talented fighter, but more importantly he was WELL-PROMOTED...3/4 of his victories are over tomato cans, built up in a vacuum for Chavez to knock over. He brought alot of pe$o$ to Don King, who did a great job of managing Chavez's career....the same type of promoting that gets Lennox Lewis mentioned as a 'great heavyweight'.

    • What?

Did you really watch the fight and follow up on this taylor-chavez fight??? Taylor was vomiting and urinating blood after this. He had a bruised liver and all other kinds of physical problems. All boxing experts point to the taylor chavez 1 fight as the fight that ended Taylors career
