      I found this out the hard way but, you either have bought a loud pulley or the magnet has bent the metal coils and then they rub against each other to create that squeak noise. To prevent this, I tie a little knot in the string to keep it away from the pulley and it prevents the noise when the magnet hits the pulley. You might have to get a new one.
