This one leaves the firehouse at dusk. The low lighting gives an opportunity go get a feel for the flashing lights, and the danger of reduced visibility by all drivers. This motor vehicle accident is fresh... The Fire Dept you are riding with was called immediately, and they set the air brakes on-scene in only 1:57 (about as much time as you get to pee during a commercial break!)

  • Credit the source of the videos, Dude!!

This is yet another video was taken from its original site, probably without permission or credit to the source.

Smokejumper5007 is that site's administrator and one of my fellow firefighters....

I was wondering, since you have downloaded these video's and trimmed them down why don't you tell people where you downloaded these video's from.

These video's and more belong to the
Madison Fire Department in Madison, NC USA.

And one more thing if smoeone is going to take a video from another website and post it somewhere else why can't that person grive credit to the source.

  • Distance

How far was the incident from your starting point? How much time elapesed from receiving the dispatch to arriving at the scene?

Was it a large appliance, did you have water on board? I spent a day in an RNZAF fire engine, you just cant go fast round all the corners.

I think that's a great video, more 'realistic' (of course!) and common than others.

    • Stats...

Not all of these videos are of my own Dept, so I'm not sure of the distance. At an average speed of 35mph in the city, I would put this at about 1.25mi.

I'm familiar with this truck. It carries 1000gal (8000lb). As long as the tank is completely full or empty (not in-between), the truck will handle as well as any big truck.

Rule #1: It's more important to MAKE IT THERE, not to make it there fast.

    • I have more...

Some of these are the complete call. The files are VERY large. I had to trim them to just the response. And, by the way, I'm not the Captain... I'm the Chief.
