  • pretty sad

The video is amazing. It shows already what impact Obama has had on the rest of the world. Pretty sad that every time you read something from a Republican, it has to be negative. It's funny, during the election, I got mail from both parties. Coming from a democrat it was inspiring, nice, positive... Coming from a Republican it was hateful, nasty, negative. Why is that? I know people of both parties, and it didn't used to be that way. I am very ashamed of those people who can't say anything that doesn't stem from hate... My guess is that "dogbreth" is a sad little person with no life. Unfortunately, there are many like him. Ignorant people with nothing better to do than criticize someone for something he hasn't even had the opportunity to do yet. If you could turn your hate into good, imagine what people in this country could accomplish....

Hey guys......(with race issue)....... Stop all this crap. What has been done is done.....! So let us just hope there would be good changes for America rather than talking nonsense about color. Honestly, if you believe in God, "God don't divide us......it's just people like you divide among each other" So give yourself a break and think before saying a word.

  • All the negative comments...

I feel sorry for you. You are seeing history in the making and all you can do is show your hatred.
    Give the man a chance.
He deserves a chance to do something positive for that battered and divided country.

  • Did he promise a miracle?!!!

Obama is a breath of sweet breeze to American heavily vilified by the world. He has brought a promise of change which the world seem to believe in. The key to hi s success will be the degree of belief the people of America will place on him. If some diehard rednecks insist on pronouncing early doom on his administration, he will definitely fail. It's up to you.

Have you visited Dailykos? Or any other left leaning sites? The most hate filled and literally vicious vile things I have ever seen in my life are coming from the left. Not Republicans! I know you can find hate full Republicans but you have to be blind or intentionally ignoring reality to blame the nasty partisan vicious nature of the political landscape on conservatives. I put the blame squarely and solely on the left. Open your eyes and have a long hard look in the mirror. The nastiness is on the left. Republicans have literally bent over backwards in an effort to get along with the left but they are so hate filled they will have none of it. What was Bushes "new tone" all about? He went out of his way to befriend the left but he received nothing but hate. He was called Hitler, mass murderer, etc. By people he had went out of his way to befriend. The left is out of control and filled with blind mindless hatred. Wake up!

You're right. He ran openly on socialism and it is going to fail. Socialism has never worked ANYWHERE. He is an extreme leftwing liberal, he has no problem with partial birth abortion, he has admitted he's attended flag burnings, and he and his wife hate America. The question is, why did something like this win?

Aside from voter fraud such as Acorn and what happened in Ohio, I think people put money of a higher importance than values. Ever since the terrorists bombed WTC we've been on a downhill spiral and the first candidate that kept the mantra of "change" (even though that "change" hasn't been defined as of yet) and people put their brains in neutral, as it were, and voted him into office.

Now he has to keep is word on all those campaign promises. His party is divided between moderates and extreme leftists. How will he bring them together? You add the mix of extreme leftists in the mixt and the outcome will be bad. It's like having a no pee section in a pool. It's impossible. The infectious leftists will infiltrate the whole mix. So how is he going to bring them together?

The LA Times will probably be forced to release the tape of Obama with a PLO leader. Perhaps the outcome of that might bring federal charges against Obama. More trouble. It is also very peculiar that Al Queda et. al. wanted Obama to win. What does that tell you?

All of the America hating countries wanted Obama to win. What does that tell you? I never thought it was a good idea to try and be everybody's friend. People will always hate America no matter what and it is both stupid and futile to try and get everybody to like America. Bottom line - screw 'em. Who cares.

In order to be liked, Obama will most likely put the very controversial issues such as the no restriction abortion bill that he has already threatened to sign, at the end of the list. That along with the ban on homosexual marriage are polarizing issues. How is he going to reconcile that? My guess is he will put those on hold at first so his ratings don't immediately take a nose dive.

Once everybody snaps out of it and realizes what just happened, it's not going to be pretty. Congress could be out in two years if they really screw things up and we will have a Republican majority again (which is usually what happens). Liberals seem to self destruct when they have any hint of power.

It will be interesting to watch. Grab some popcorn and set back and watch. Hopefully the obama presidency won't destroy America before a strong Republican can rebuild again.

  • It's a start

I don't understand how people in this day and age can be so narrow minded. To start our economy the way it is, our government runs the way it runs and don't get me started on the war and your worried about a gun. WHAT!!!! I wish thats all i had to worry about.Your worried because he is black??? I heard a lady the other day on the radio complaining that it was the worst day of her life because she thinks she will no longer be able to keep her job as a nurse because of his health plan or her salary may decrease. Obama is exactly right in saying we as a people are going to have to step up and make some changes and sacrifices in order to make things better. Is it worth it???? What are you willing to sacrifice or change in order to make sure every person in this country has the right to the same health care. Are you think like McCain that it's privelage to have health care??? I say no it should be manditory period. I think we as a people live to much in the right now and don't put much thought in the future as we should. I have 3 kids and would like to think we could do a little better for there future. Obama is a change from the norm and to me that's more important than any thing. Lets let the man stand up and shows us what he is made of before we come the the conclusion of bad things. And no i am not black!!!!!!! I am a white male from the deep south who takes a man for what he does in the now not what i think he is going to do.

However it's a shame that Americas first black president will also be Americas WORST president. Obama is a socialist and socialism has been an utter and complete failure everywhere it has been tried. We are looking at four years of financial disaster! As well a Orwellian politics. God help us!

Only in america can somebody who is foreign born con his way to the presidential office in less time than it takes to become a doctor. Dont forget he still has to prove his birth location to the supreme court in an answer to the lawsuit about his birth nation. PS. His grandmother in kenya says he was borne there!

  • In response to Obama not really Being AA

being a man of color means being discriminated in two-ways, especially when you're of mixed origins. he is still 'colored' in the eyes of the public and so treated as such, and also when he tries to label himself as an African-American, then people tell him he's not really all African. The sad part is, and this traces back to the days of slavery, you don't have to be %100 of African origin to be 'colored' and hence be treated differently.

I'm glad he is such a qualified person to be president, and I'm shocked to finally see a person of color, whatever that color may be, as our leader. Ultimately, we are a country of immigrants, unless of course you are Native American. And so the fact that up until this point not a single person with immigrant origins other than that of European decent has been made president tell a lot about us as people; and it's not a flattering message. Frankly, I am happy to see that our country is willing to move foward and finally accept people 'not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character' so to speak. How could we have really said we were about freedom and fairness when no free man of color was ever our leader.

I am an immigrant. My great-great grandfather's father came from the island of England. My ancestors were privelaged, but still immigrants. This great country, of which I am so proud to be a part of and call myself American, was created by and for an immigrant people and it is a shame that those of us white folk seem to forget this and want to keep everyone out instead of giving everyong the same wonderful opportunities that we recieved long ago.

I voted for Obama because I wanted this country to change, not because he was black. But the fact that things are changing already to allow a step in the right direction thrills me. What better leader than a mixed-ethnicity foward thinker to lead a country of freedom-seeking mixed decent?

    • I voted for McCain...

not because Obama is black, but because he is a Socialist and has stated publicly that he intends to move this country towards a socialist society. Look closely; you will find very little philosophical difference between Barak Obama and Hugo Chavez.

    • wtf

You say we aren't a country of freedom and fairness because a black person hasn't been president. FYI not that many black ppl have run for president. He's the only one i know of. SO STFU. All the white ppl are related to immigrants. So how could we NOT be a country of freedom and fairness when ppl of many races run our government. We let so many immigrants in. If we werent a country of freedom and fairness, then why do we have so many immigrants?

has always been a man of color as president of the U. S. White is a color. In fact, if you ever studied art, you'll know that the absence of all color is black.

  • McCain was OK too.

If McCain had won, I think American would still be America again.

One thing I find strange is that the media always refers to Obama as black, but wouldn't it be more appropriate to refer to him as "of mixed race" since he's half white half black?

  • ITS VERY SIMPLE - PPLE OF AMERICA - HUMA...

Votes are only devided into 2 catagoires. Supporters and fence seaters. Supporters are extremist who only think of ideal of which candidate that they will vote. Fence sitters are pple who are subjected to the needs of current developments involving their daily requirements. Example, does OBAMA or MCCAIN put food on my table very day ... there you go.... simple as that. And if Fence sitters are more then supporters .. you find the votes are only predictable to changes ... EXAMPLE .. are you fed up of war in iraq... are you fed up of how the country has been run by bankers or stock market holders... are the needs of the poor being meant in AMERICA .. there you go... if you think this way.... you are a FENCE SITTER ... you sway towards nessasary changes... and what more... OBAMA is the nessary change .....think deep and take in of what i have to say....

  • White/Black House

I have always woundered if Barack Obama won if when he moved into the White House he would go outside with a tin of paint and turn it into the Black House!

Ok maybe not himself but nothing would put this victory into the history books than a huge visual symbol like changing the colour of his home.

Best to say though that future black presidents should not do this as well to avoid the White House matching the skin colour.
