  • Could simplyfy it even further.

Hook a small skateboard like rolling platform, a large rc engine, or even a crossflow fan turbine, to it. For best results show it to someone in a poor country, see if they would build it showing how cheap, and innovative they can be.
Make the worlds smallest gyro plane from something like this. Or flying toy, this gives me ideas already.

  • Icarus

This is one of the very few daredevil things that I just wouldn't do, for I am sure I would fall out the sky like Icarus.

  • it`s towed, guys !

Hey, come on, even with a strong wind he can`t take off if it has no power ... You can see the towing car at 0:37 , moving with the same speed and in the same direction. After he get`s to a certain height , he cut loose the cable and he`s free to glide down .... Old video .

  • °Ü°

im beating its real windy up there so its just like a hang glider, but with a propeller. just like when a glider catches the wind so does this glider

    • Wind doesn't = lift

Since its a flat area, wind wouldn't help with keeping the aircraft up. It would however, mean he doesn't have to run as fast on take off and landing.

  • Is real ?

    Where the engine !

    By lertpk 1226207375
    • No engine required

Operating on the principle of auto-rotation. There was most likely a strong headwind for his take-off. Same landing technique used for helicopter experiencing engine failure; increase angle of descent and then flare hard before touchdown.
