Using the company's SAP Business All-in-One for Automotive software, Lewis Hamilton's team effectively manages ongoing development of high-performance V8 engines from Mercedes-Benz, which comprise 3,000 different components.

If an engine component needs to be replaced, it can be ordered on short notice. The team can access real-time data from the cars simultaneously at the the McLaren Technology Centre in England and the Mercedes-Benz headquarters in Germany. Time previously spent on assessing the data can be used for deciding on the best course of action, a decisive advantage.
