    I have this movie with me. Trust me , the fight sequences and the chasses which you are viewing in this video are nothing compared to what the real fight sequences in the movie are. This actor/MA expert , is one helluva fighter

    I'm not Thai, but am married to a Thai so the following has been told by my Thai family.

    When this film was originally made the production company had a very very small budget and as a result all stunts were for real. They could not afford internationally trained stuntmen; only thai stuntmen who obvoiusly have training in Muay Thai.

    The stunts are real NOT FAKE. In the opening scene to this movie, where they are all climing a tree to retrieve a bandana, several stuntmen broke arms and legs.

    The kicks are real, only using well paded jackets for protection. You can see this in the forced used from kicks and punches.

    Since making the sequel "Tom Yum Goong" (also known as "The protector") the stunts in my opinion are not as good as in Ong Bak. Ong Bak gave the production company world wide recognition ensuring that they had a larger budget enabling them to recruit experienced stuntmen.

    Takes the shine off things if you ask me. But wait for the third installment guys. Muay Thai Rules.

      The stuntmen have protections... The most difficult is to give the impression to really kick them... Well sometimes they are really kicked but most of the time it's fake!

      and also some protection. you can call it fake cause no one get hurt. but it also no sling and any equipment helps tony to do all that thing. it is all his talent and experience.

      one thing annoy me. why the name of each fighting position is in thai...least should be thai and english. by the way i'm thai.
