what resolution do you get from taking sides at an issue like this? it's not up to the police or the riots to come up with a resolution. put yourself in others' shoes for once. THINK before you talk. imagine that guy hit is your dad who blew away years of plantations from the gov's mistreatment so now that he cant feed you anymore he's gotta do something about it. Would you expect him to sit there and meditate quitely untill a governor walks into your door? Would you still call him a moron? If he just wanted to stand there, then he should have stood at the back, not right at the front of the line, I'm sure they gave the dick weed plenty of time to leave. It got what it deserved!

I agree though... however, you cant make a judgement on what they did and why they did it. it is a video, you did not see the hole thing, you were not there, and there is nothing on the video itself saying *exactly* what was going on. Therefore you have no right to say weather the RIOT police dude had the right to hit him or not, or for that matter what the rioters were doing there. However, from what you can see the dude was just standing there, and i think a bit less drastic measures could have been used...

The Police must act this way, they are usualy outnumbered, and the protestors get quite violent. I have seen a few of these protests here in Korea. Usualy they go on without any problems, but once a few people start acting violent, soon the whole group acts that way, destroying property, fighting, and even setting fires. This is the best way for the police to discourage such behavior, and it works.

This is the stand off that the police in HK got when the IMF World Bank Conferance (International Monetary Fund) held it's meeting in HK 2005. This year the meeting is in Singapore. And I heard that the Police Force there are one of the best in the world.

I agree with boaa. This IS Korean. I have seen protests like this before. the Korean National Police (KNP) have to react to the crown this way, the protestors can get quite violent, and usually outnumber the police.
