I'm British and I don't relate to Tony Blair at all...in fact I never voted him in! He kisses Bush's Arse like there's no tomorrow...but that doesn't mean any of us are like him! I've always been a proud Brit...and would like to stay that way! But unfortunately Blair brings shame on British Pride and if he comes into Government again...i'm skipping country!
And those Brits who go abroad, become drunk and disorderly brings shame on us...and those Americans who go abroad and just act dumb are again a shame on the good Americans! Canada has helped out alot check world war 1 and 2 check vietnam and check who is doing your dying right now in afghanistan on the front lines. Oh also check there help on everythng NONE military. For a country 10X smaller in population then the US they help out and donate more if you look at $/person.

i got off on a bit of a rant. canada is a very respectable nation, as are sweden and the netherlands to name a few more. i agree with you completely and apologize for lumping them in.

American people but i do hate the american gevernment.. but the big problem, which i have noticed here in metacafe is the mix between muslim extremists and the rest of the muslims around the world. The thing is, both sides, muslims and americans are becoming the victims of these conflicts that dont include the people but include governments and organizations like Al Qa'eda. Your message should be generalized to cover all people in all conflicts. btw, most muslims and arabs do hate Al Qa'eda as much as they hate the american govenment. you are generally blaming your own government for all that has happened, your people in anyway are NOT responsible for anything your govenment does, and that you attempt at finding the fault in the history of other countries to cover for your own. Frankly speaking it seems to me America PRIZES the wars it has joined... or started for that matter. Where else are your gaming companies going to get new sequals for the war games they produce? and dont even get me starting on spelling them all out. Agree with everything you wrote besides canada... I think they should probably be more involved in todays problems rather on depending on there past but yes they are a very friendly country that dosent cause problems which means the most!

I'll jump on the bandwagon and agree with the majority of your comment. One tiny thing though, please remember England is one of a group of four countries that make up the U.K., there are Scots, Irish and Welsh all doing the needful too, and sadly, dying in the process. Cheers.

thing is never silly. I pray everyday that my son his wife his friends and anyone else in the military never has to go to war so who do you suggest that I pray to. My duaghter in law spent 5 months over there One of my sons friends (a marine) lost his arm over there. He has 3 other friends over there now pulling tours right now 2 of them on there 3rd tour. all but one of them are under 23 yrs old. my cousin and his daughter were in Iraq at the same time and his son was in Afghanastan all at the same time. so tell me I believe in God and I believe in prayers so now what. I don't agree with war but I WILL PRAY FOR OUR TROOPS AND STAND BEHIND THEM. 9-11 happened and my son and his friends enlisted because of this to help in any way they could they knew there was a big chance of war. But I'm sure very few people prayed for a war.

I'm going to reply on number 7, we don't have the second amendment because we " feel unsafe without them " The founding fathers put the second amendment in there, to keep americas government from becoming a dictatorial government. This was the thing the founding fathers feared most, after having lived under the tyrannical rule of the king. A " right to arms " means our right to a militia, so that we can have some means of overthrowing a government like that, if America ever shifted in that direction. I have studied american history in high school, now let me tell you that you need to find out what they don't teach u in school, how american policies are changed depending on the interests of the american government and the american people are kept in the dark (ruled by the elite class), and without regard for the interests of the people of other countries, with respect, other countries aren't perfect, but you'r far from the gaurdian angels your current president acts like you are, and hence have the right to police the world?.. how about you think about that?

Then look at world history, then maybe you'll see the reason why we are there. You see, we must be there so they are not here. Its war in their country, not ours. Americans live their lives without even realizing the real sacrifices our military men and women give. As it should be. A secure Iraq is much needed, someone has to do it, again we sacrifice for others. If you dont agree then dont serve, silly. And move somewhere else.

The Iraqis are not going to form a democratic government because the Sunnis won't accept the Shiites and the Shiites won't accept the Sunnis. Let the dumb SOBs kill one another and keep our guys out of the line of fire. STAY SAFE and GOD BLESS.

The Iraqi's (most of whom are good folks) don't pose a threat. HOWEVER, (1) the terrorist agencies there who are leading the violence there - and KILLING THIER OWN countrymen & others do. (2) Bordering countries & other Terrorist agencies could and would (both historically & as evidenced by current leaders such as Kim & Iran's Top Leaders) rush to take over - or at a minimun, take land for themselves.
The Iraqi's there deserve a stable government. How many governments win a war with another country, THEN pay (with blood, sweat, tears, & money) to fix it back?
The WORLD needs a stable government in the middle east. Else it's becomes a cess pool for narrow-minded terrorists. (aka extremists) Even most of the Islamic clerics point out that the terrorists are not following Islam and are PERVERTING TRUE ISLAM. (Sadly sounds a little like the Crusades - where "Christans" were following their own desires & a perverted version of Christianity. However many that went truely believed that it was the right thing to do - mainly due to illiteracy and an inability to read the Bible; only the educated & MOST priests of the day could read - unlike today.)
Everything takes time. I personally do care what happens to the people of Iraq. There are many good folks there. BUT, like ALL nations, each has its "bad seeds". Might does not make right (as it seems to be customary to most) - it means that you should help others and defend the weak. And no - America can not help everyone in the world, nor should it have to. We have to help ourselves.
