it also happens to black people a lot - it's just they don't have video cameras to capture the moment. They either can't afford to buy cameras because they're on welfare, or if they did own one it's been sold to buy drugs.

you could make any mode of transport 'safest' depending on how you measured it, pretty much. Aircraft are safest in terms of lowest number of fatalities per mile travelled. (and on this basis space travel on rockets or the shuttle is probably safer still, despite the fact that space shuttle missions have roughly 1 in 50 chance of ending in absolute disaster).

You could measure in terms of so many things- if you looked at fatalities per hour of travel time then walking and cycling would probably rate very safely.
