I think this was excellent training for the child! If you want something bad enough, keep trying, don't give up! The baby cryed out of frustration but he laughed at himself too! Mom kept giving him encouragement and so he kept trying! You try to walk up a slide with socks on and see long it takes!

I don't think this merits to be called child abuse. This is good training for the baby to develop his motor skills as well as being more independent. Child abuse is not letting the child doing anything by his or her own effort and the result would be spoilt brats.

I talked to my wife, and we agree this parent went too far. I have two daughters. One is 4 months an one 2,5 yrs. I agree that this was nice training for the toddler, but about halfways I started crying (and laughing) so i don't think I could keep on that long.
