This takes me back! I did this off the Menai straits bridge in North Wales quite a few years back. When I'd finished and the team were hauling me back up I looked up and saw a Police officer waiting for me. He was cool. Told me he would love to do it but obviously couldn't. He wanted a quite day and the phones were ringing off the hook saying people were trying to commit suicide.
One helll of a rush!!!

  I think they get UP from the ropes... two ways to go about it really, release your harness and swim for it, or have your friends haul you up using a winch or maybe ascenders. these guys are all wearing dry street clothes, so they probably got hauled up or climbed, but personally, I'd go for the quick release option and swim to shore ;)
