    A horse is a strong animal that is built to get such a blow.
    it's like two people collide in eachother, nothing too much painfull shpuld happen as their body is built in a unique shape.

      As a horse person i dispise s**t like this, i hate the thoroughbred racing industry with a vengence. that is just typical,those poor horses it makes me so upset when ppl think this stuff is funny,those horses are raised like machines with no love,(unless of course they win some money or come from a small stable of ppl who arnt in it for the money. Disgusting

      If you have ever SEEN a horse, (in wich I seriusly doubt) you probably would have noticed that a horse can run much faster than a human being.
      If humans run into each other it is like two cars driving into each other in 20 km/h.
      If two horses does its like two cars having a head-on collision in 100 km/h.

      Races are very short. It was probably over seconds after this wreck. Also, it's not so easy to stop half a dozen galloping horses in an instant. Not all the jockeys knew what happened and they are going so fast and are surrounded by thundering hooves that it can be difficult to hear anything else. How would you stop the race??

    I do not normally comment. But my business is horses. Sad clip. The race track was thoroughly the blame. That was unsafe conditions. You would not see nascar racing in conditions like that. And horses are a flight animal, meaning, they survived by running away. They look back. We as humans, are hunters. We look ahead. So yes, a collision like that could happen.
