LAST LAFF LIVE at: UNCLE SAM'S 1991 - 1993 Niagara Falls, CANADA If you watched this video ((Thanks)) and sorry if it was slightly disappointing. I hope I don't get bastardized with nasty comments by all the cruel young dudes that say it sucks...well maybe that is inevitable with any video that goes public! Lol This is a diced up video compilation of 3 different gigs in my past original band line-ups from Niagara Falls, Canada. It the early nineties, I formed and called my original band LAST LAFF. I was a teenager with the mindset we were going to be famous and have the last laugh on everyone that told us we were not going anywhere. (Holy EGO Batman) Lol Maybe we were nobody's, but I'd like to think that we were pretty decent musicians. I look back on this video and I can tell I was faking my confidence as I was deathly scared of playing in public. I was a bundle of nerves. Lol This early era was also while I had a thick head of hair. :) That is why after the main title, I sub-titled it: 1991 -1993 the HAIR Metal Era. UNCLE SAM'S (hair metal Mecca) was a place that I dearly miss after it shutdown in late 1993 and never was again. What sucks is I was just getting my feet wet playing live and hadn't yet realized what kind of awesome stage I was standing on. My biggest regret was not saving up for my own camcorder back then so I would have had more video to use, but I am extremely grateful for my old girlfriend and the ex-G-friend of the drummer that videotaped the 1993 gig...even if she didn't show me actually playing most my guitar solos as she was pre-occupied with videotaping the drummer...her heart throb. Lol I know all musician's will say this: "Too bad we didn't videotape our last show or that one awesome gig" but it happens to us all and I promise myself not to make that mistake again as I now have my own camcorder and won't let the memories slip away. Who would have known that YouTube would have existed over a decade ago? Not me! Lol For many years my old live gig VHS tapes just sat around in a box. I didn't think to try and digitize them as I felt they were not high enough quality to be worth listening to, but then I realized *so what if it kind of sucks* because old live gigs recorded on a camcorder always sound shitty and have wobbly and blurry video. Lol I decided to piece some of my old originals together for a short medley, but I know more than 1 song in its entirety would be too long. I also didn't just want to put a specific song out there on YouTube. I decided on just showing some guitar solos and some crazy instrumental endings because I could pack in enough pieces and still keep the video short. I also considered the fact that I had numerous singers on the videos and wasn't sure they would appreciate something they might be embarrassed about being shared with the public. The other consideration was that I no longer live in the same Country as these past singers of my original bands so I didn't want anyone in the public thinking we are still a band and asking me where and when we are gigging. I did break the *all-original* song rule at 3:46 - 4:22. It is the only cover song I decided to give you all a glimpse into because it is to pay tribute and respect to the late GREAT DIMEBAG DARRELL...who was tragically taken away from us in his prime. The picture I added in took was in Dallas, Texas on a bar wall in Deep Ellum...the live music district. Any way, the next old live medley is of a higher quality (2000 - 2001) so check it out if I didn't scare you away with this one. Here's a little background in my music life: My focus for the last 5 years(since my move to California) has been home recording instrumentals...Primarily because I wanted to get as many songs written before piecing together a band out here. I've been a little shy in forming bands that have to write together as I do most of writing instrumentally before anyone hears it and it can get frustrating trying to teach parts to band mates and time-consuming. All my previous bands have met with the same fate...we learn 25-30 songs, gig a few times, break-up, reform (replacing certain members) and try again and again and again. Lol It's exhausting and devastating to my drive to go through that so for now I'll be just writing, until the right musician's or band comes my way and we can merge together to create something on a more permanent level and not need therapy like Metallica. :) Check out my other videos as they are way newer and have a lot better sound and video quality as I used a digital camcorder and did all editing on a PC. Take care, Aaron m/
