So amaizing, I am so glad for him but how can a person have so much damage in his brains and can still function normally. I mean is he totally normal, How ?I know the left side control so many functions of a right handed and in case you lose control of one side the other side will try to compensate but to actualy lose half of your brain???? Shocked, but so happy for the kid.....

meaning you can loose a part of your brain responsible for a set of functions and then have the rest of the brain readapting and taking over responsibility for those functions !!
The human body and more especially the brain is an incredible machine !!
However i knew someone how got hit by train and lost 40% of his brain (exact same side). He could have been maintained in a coma but would never would have woke up again;
His parents made the most difficult choice ever and let him go...

I've always heard that the right hemisphere of our brain controls the left part of our body and vice-verça . This boy doesn't seem to be lame of his left side or even paralised of anything. Then such a terrible story and miraculous operation should have been in the media, where I never saw or heard of it. Impresive anyway.
