Nice idea and full marks for thinking out of the box. Doesn't make sense though when you can simply go jogging without the treadmill. Treadmills are meant to be used indoors when you can't go out.

I can't see how this can be beater then bike, if you look at this as vehicle, and as recreation device, normal treadmill or just jogging is 100 times more useful. Stupid invention.... And even stupider is to think that this "will change our country from a fat one to a fit one" .. .total FAIL

could be a problem. Adding the generator to make electricity would be great. On dates, if your partner was fat would get you there and reduce weight. Good show.

but to what advantage versus simply jogging? For that matter, if you where to add any accesories (such as lights for safety) and then attempt to power any of those accesories with the machine, your power demand will only increase.

Cool idea as a toy, but unless someone is williing to shell out tons of money to purchase something constructed of ultra light yet strong enough materials able to provide the neccesary gearing and power transmission to keep from completely exhausting it's users, I doubt it will go much further than it's current stage of novelty.
