Outdoor activity and nature play promotes creativity, problem-solving, and emotional and intellectual development. Celebrate Afterschool! Outdoors in the Garden State is an opportunity to explore opportunities that the great outdoors offers children in afterschool programs and to build understanding of and support for the afterschool field.
During the week of May 11, 2009, Celebrate Afterschool! Outdoors in the Garden State will hold high-visibility, fun and educational events to involve communities across the state in connecting children with nature through afterschool programs.
