Student Simon Jenkins has set his heart on becoming a successful stand-up comic. He survived the Boxing-day Tsunami and is determined to make the most of life. This week one of his dreams was soon to be realised as was due to compere at Kingston’s finest comedy club, Outside the Box, but at the very last minute was bumped by US actor and comedian Robin Williams.
24 hours later Simon was asked to appear in the audience of the Graham Norton show which was featuring Robin Williams as a guest. Robin was asked by Graham whether he would ever bump a comedian off his slot at a comedy club to which he replied, no. In true Robin Williams’ style he turned the story around, got the audience chanting Simon’s name and gave him some tips from the top of the comedians’ trade.
