      The irony is that you are dead right until you bring up your political views. Liberals live for feelings, not the logical and mistake the two for each other. Your "logic" is that I should pay for someone else's lazy ass while I work hard for my money. Thats not logical, thats insanity.       I was laughing n thought my gaaard, why bother auditioning. But then it hit me that they want to show themselves at least if they S**k , they still want to prove they can give it all they,ve got. Just about most of us dont have it when it comes to singing. You,d think why bother? They do it because they enjoy it. To those who have tried and fail, and knowing they either going to have a good laugh doing it, or feel tragic when they have given their best shot, my hat goes to them who have given up their time standing all day in the queue, practising at home without tuition, and revealing to the world their pure joy of singing. Apart from the guy who was only capable of singing one line, the others are there for a good laugh and giving it a shot for our entartainment. Thank you.

    Sometimes even your best friends won't tell you you are crap, and the show is entertaining because it exposes the way people have an opinion of themselves that is not justified. Surely you should know if you are tone deaf, how do you get to 20 years old without knowing you can't sing? Unmusical people do not realise that music is REAL- it is not based on opinions, and Simon is generally being "cruel" to be kind. It's also very amusing to see inflated egos get deflated.
    Frank DK is correct, religion and republicanism is for the ignorant (I didn't say stupid, stupidity is not curable, ignorance is). The sad thing is that some of these contestants wrongly believe they can sing. This amuses us, just as the clown George Bush does, he seems to think he has opinions worth listening to. In a non-ignorant society he would not have been elected dog catcher, but somehow he got elected twice, but so did Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin and Saddam Hussein. He wouldn't have got past Simon Cowell!

  • what is laughable here?

    It is really bad taste for the program to laugh at these guys. They are just amateurs. I think the program is quite worse than them. They just go to an audition, and that´s very honourable. And they have the guts to act in front of some really UNPROFFESIONAL AND UNRESPECTFUL "jury" that is laughing at them because their job is to make a show, not to be a jury.
    Talent is to be respected as much as the lack of it. But bad manners and using some amateur´s image to profit is not.
