Sometimes I hear from bears ( those with a short bias ) during a bear market: "This market is being manipulated! Why aren't we going down? Why are we up 200 points!"

Simply because we've been in a recession or a bear market? Doesn't mean your timing has to fly out the window. It doesn't mean a stock will automatically be a good short. That logic doesn't apply in a bull market for buying, so it wouldn't apply in a bear market for shorting stocks. I discuss that in the following vlog entry ...
