Baz Luhrmann’s epic film Australia premieres in London on 10 December and will open in cinemas on Boxing Day. This eagerly anticipated drama tells the story of an English aristocrat, Lady Sarah Ashley (Nicole Kidman), and a rough-hewn cattle drover (Hugh Jackman) who drive 1,500 head of cattle across Northern Australia.

To celebrate this epic romance a breathtaking new journey, dubbed ‘The Australia Way’, has opened, linking the vibrant and tropical harbour city of Darwin with the exotic pearling town of Broome. Winding through red escarpments, lush waterholes and remote cattle stations, this route will enable visitors to experience firsthand the dramatic scenery and characters that so inspired the Australian film director.

Taking a recommended 11 days, the 1,875km route will allow visitors to see the landscapes that provided the breathtaking natural backdrops and sets for the film, as well as meet local stockmen and cattle drovers who are the ‘real’ cast of the movie.

This video takes you on a journey through the untouched wilderness - so reach for your popcorn and then your passport and plan your very own Nicole and Hugh inspired Australian adventure.

An interactive map of the journey, experiences and suggested itineraries can be found on: www.westernaustralia.com/australiaway.
