9th Intenation Childrens Festival of Performing Arts 2008
In an age where the voices of tranquil and peace get shattered temporarily with the ear deafening sounds of terror and destruction, man still works towards recreating peace, harmony and brotherhood through the reassuring strains of music, dance and a fresh faith in human emotions to walk the world and "Imagine the World as One". While the intensity of sorrow and grief has bold ramifications, smiles convey a strong message of belief in the basic principles of bounding and binding the world together. On these notes of beading the world together the Ryan Foundation, in association with Indian Council for Cultural Affairs and the National Bal Bhawan is ready to host the spectacular International Childrens Festival of Performing Arts 2008.
[From 27th November to 30th November 2008]
A recognized and much awaited landmark, the festival will be host to 25 countries 200 performances with five thousand performers sending across strains of rich vibrant music, dances from across the globe and some of the very finest and poignant performances from theatre troupes of repute. Ignited by various art forms, music and emotions will open their minds only towards 'Imagining the World as One'.
The festival like the breath of fresh air reiterates that music, dance and theatre are all mediums which reaffirm faith in the very goodness of life. The curtain raiser shall be the hair-rai-sing Patriotic 'Vande Matram' in which participants too shall hail the spirit of melodious Vande Matram composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and set to music by A.R. Rehman. Participating in the grand opening would be performers from 25 countries speaking about the festival, the founder Chairman Dr. A. F. Pinto of the Ryan group stated that "the strength of the festival is the power of music, rhythm, action, emotion and movement". The objective is to hail the spirit of harmony and brotherhood through expression of joys and moods of life. The World is together and one when thought of as one big family.
Adding to this the Managing Director of the Ryan group Mrs. Grace Pinto said " the 3 day festival is a platform for performances from across the globe to showcase that language culture and music could differ but all human beings emote the same way. It is a historic moment for all performers to come together to proclaim the strains of melody."
