I grew up with dogs, and am an excellent dog trainer. Dogs have empathy, the ability to understand the pain of others. They are not mindless animals. And they have a sense of self as well.
The rescue dog certainly knew it was risking its own life to save the injured dog. It kept looking around to find a safe time to drag its companion to safety.10687276 - 1

Instinct would tell the dog to run and save itself; Intelligence would take precedence for the dog to save it's companion, whatever the relationship. Interesting not a single car stopped, or pulled over to help. Not one even slowed down. Probably talking on their cell phones and oblivious to traffic. And what about the person who hit the dog in the first place? I'd like to know his identity and hope one day he's laying in the middle of a road in a hit and run, perhaps he will remember the dog he left behind.

This is just too amazing!! I was totally floored! Thank God traffic control at least showed up to help the two get off the highway to some sort of safety. I blame the humans who allow their pets to wander aimlessly, the "humans" who discard these animals onto unforgiving streets, the cowards who abuse our friends.

Do you know what cars traveling down the freeway can do to a human? Also, if you stop or cause a collision on the freeway particularly a fatal one, you are responsible and liable. Even the driver of the car that first struck the dog swerved in an attempt to avoid the animal. Ultimately the objective is to avoid getting yourself or other motorists injured or killed, whether when avoiding a little rabbit, or dog, or a large deer, horse, cow, ect.

Well, you cut out the first part, where different dogs where hit by different cars in different lanes. Different lighting and different weather conditions. The dog at the end died or was dead at the scene when clean-up guys got there, according to the Chilean media. Made national news and all... but still didn't go down that way. A dog drug another dog out of the road.
I mean, people love a good story no matter whether its real or not, put it to Carmina Burana and everyone gets warm and fuzzy. Oh well, heres to Hero Dog and the people who love you... lol...
