Note the little 4 wheeled step ladder that they used. But did you see how It had pretty black material covering the outside of it. Did you see how the chap pushing it on to the stage didnt struggle. But when he wheeled it off. It looked like he needed to give it an extra push. As if it had just gotten heavier all of a sudden.

basicly wut these ppl are saying is correct. when he entered, the dude that was pushing the stairs made it look like he was pushing lightly. when they covered up the magician the dude that was pushing the stairs went in front of the side so ppl in the audience wouldn't see anything and thats when the magician went in the stiars and someone else was moving the hands. meanwhile the dude that was pushing the stairs went by the judges and when the rocket flew by the judges he popped up and scared the shit out of the girl. =)
