Available in Japan for a decade, Americans will finally have a chance to drive a Nissan Cube in the Spring of 2009. Americans will look at the Cube and think it's most reminiscent of the boxy Scion XB, but the Cube was actually available in Japan long before the XB was released. The 2009 Cube is a marvel of quirky design... its asymmetrical and has a different profile on the right and left sides, it features a “bulldog” like stance, wide doors, and a rear door that opens like a refrigerator. The car's shape creates plenty of room on the interior, with space to comfortably seat up to five people. But one of the best things about the Cube, and the reason its been so popular for so long in Japan, is its amazing fuel efficiency... the 2009 model has not been tested by the EPA, but Nissan expects it will get a rating of about 30 miles per gallon on the freeway. With an estimated price of under 14,000 dollars, the Cube is a reasonably priced car that will set you apart from the pack with its quirky and interesting design... and will save you plenty of money in the long run with its amazing fuel efficiency.
