Really, it's the water-soluable and surfactant- binding vanishing dye that they invented that really is cool, but hey, if you work through the problems a lot of things are possible. windshields are made of glass (ie silicate or lamens terms, sand ) = 100% hydrophobic
computer boards are made form plastic and metal = 100% hydrophobic
raincoats are made of PVC or other plastic = 100% hydrophobic
bathroom paints can be oil based = 100% hydrophobic
wetsuits are made to get wet. Your thinking of dry suits, which are made of rubber = 100% hydrophobic

well as much as computer parts are hydrophobi-c, water can cause to re-route electric currents on your computer, thus making it suceptible to short circuit.

ok...first of all, keyboards would need it ...they are made of plastic and metal ...but it would need some type of cover because water accidents do result in a ...how can I say this, catastrophic electricution .... keyboard...

Keyboards are not run on enough power to even jolt the human body. The power isn't even strong enough to pierce the first layer of skin.

for the roof, light weight, thermal is not a problem( coz it is sand, not sure though), and water proof, not a be invention, but someone is probably using it already, that's why they spent money to research right.

it means it repels water another example is found in soap...it has a hrydrophobic hend which attracts to dirt and a hydrophillic or waterloving end that attracts to water ... the probal manner of being hydrophobic in the sands case is prolly a -ve charge ... i dont know for certain but i think so seeing as hyrdophobic stuff is usally -ve charge as wqater is...as it has a slight charge ... i dunno exactly the 2nd parts just my theory ....

Another example of a hydrophobic substance is lipids (fats) which form phospholipid bilayers that clump up in order to not touch water. That's what cell membranes are made of. :-)
