A funny part of a stand up show by Eddie Izzard.
Britain has many different styles of humour. This enables us to tolerate the bigotry and ignorance of those who think they know better.
We also have a democracy which allows us to stop watching / listening if we don't like it and freedom of speech that allows us to respect the comments of others no matter how pathetic and stupid they are.
We are also able to laugh at ourselves - we elected Tony Blair who follows George Bush around like a lost sheep, after all.
And speaking of which, what sort of sense of humour do you need to elect someone like George Bush?
Or parhaps you don't understand the question.
The elected will never ever be able to satisfy 100% of the people all of the time.
By The Pool Guy 1169245870 Ain't it great? Your answer was perfect, now if only they could understand why you said it ;-).
We have comedy in the States as well, so many different types that none can actually be labeled American comedy.. I wonder why someone would put the entire country in the mode of ONE Comic?
Many of the kids who post here only do so they can see their name on the web...lol. They often have nothing to say about the clips.. sad but true.
If you don't find the line "so my choice is or death" funny you don't have a soul!
By mythought 1179534296otherwise, the Public Television Stations wouldn't be loaded up with BBC world news (yes, its comedy if you're properly lubricated), Monty Python, Are You Being Served, Mr. Bean, and the rare but enjoyable Eddie Izzard set...
Don't stereotype the Yanks...that's why we're yelling at morons like hop-on. He stereotyped you Brits and your humor.
Take heart. There are Americans who get this stuff. :)
I getting sick and tired of anti- Americanism that's sweeping through Britain, I've been to the US and never met a nicer bunch of people.
By RedPine 1171729563Went down well in america - now thats typical english comedy.
By carlos211 1164812122Not actually representative of British humour... French love him and Mr Bean who by the way is very English (Not British) Scots like a completely different humour type, more earthy and basic Billy Connolly for example, although ther English love him because he is outrageous!. English like Irony and dry throwaway one liners. For the best of English humour try "Yes Minister" and "Yes Prime Minister" classic and really clever humour, "Faulty Towers" was another.
You watch the whole show. This clip doesn't give you the background leading up to it. As with nearly all Izzard's stuff, he makes references to material he's covered all the way through the show. Genius. XD
