    They made a fighter ship out of the scraps of the 2 buildings that were destroyed along with 3000 people by terrorists. And now those scraps will help fight against those people. It's a good way to use those scraps i think.

      It was easier to melt the scrap into steel plating. Plus, the new tower is built by a private contractor, not the government, so what steel they use is up to them. I think they are reusing some of the metal, so everyone should be happy

      I agree, using the scrap metal from the old WTC, NYC should of used all that scrap metal for the new building?? It's such a sad irony that they have to build a naval vessal out of such metal. We dwell to much on war, rather, we all should help each other to re-build and get along??

      think US Navy ships are only for killing people. Ships like this one helped clean up after Katrina and the tsunami, and curbing the piracy near Somalia.
