So I purchased the equipment...and I'm stuck! I have the laptop opend and access to the harddrive. However, I am unable to access the folder that has the info. I am trying to retrive. The notificaiton reads, "Access is Denied." Is there anyway I can still access the folder in question? Is there a command prompt or something? Help! is greatly appreciated... I'm trying to save some wedding pics. : (

u can buy external HD casing..and make it as ur own external hard disk then to throw it away which will contribute to greenhouse effect..this thing can store much more than ur thumbdrive

I guess it depends on Operating System, but, Specific user profile folders will not let you copy them because you are not the hard drive owner.. I am guessing you already know, VariableGHz, but for those who don't...

right click on your old newly installed drive and look somewhere around security, properties, ownership, or something the like and take ownership.

Of course I am doing this out of my brain housing group and you should Goolgle it.
